Trainer in the Spotlight – Kathy Carr

Once in a while, in a not so nice world, you meet someone that restores your faith in kindness and hope. Meet Kathy Carr, Owner of Canine Bodywork & Aquatics.

Kathy with Tori

Pawtastic Friends founders Michael and Melissa met Kathy in 2016 and formed a partnership to provide aquatics to Pawtastic Friends Scholars. Aquatics programs are great for senior dogs, dogs recovering from an injury/surgery, or dogs who just love water. Aquatic fitness is great conditioning as the waters’ buoyancy reduces any wear and tear on the joints of our furry friends. Aquatics is a great exercise that calms the mind and renews the spirit.

Kathy has helped transform numerous Pawtastic Friends dogs (Naomi, Lady Macbeth, Keats, Dougie, Rosie, Tori, Major, Daisy) just to name a few. The Aquatics program helps build confidence and trust; bringing out the best in each of them.

Apollo Dexter Rosie

Every year Kathy sponsors a Canine Swim-a-thon, raising money for canine cancer. This amazing event is open to all of her students. Pawtastic Friends has had several of our scholars participate. It’s a fun event for the dogs as well as the PF volunteers who are their cheerleaders.

Naomi, for whom our Memorial Aquatics Program is named

Pawtastic Friends loves working with Kathy and looks forward to changing the lives of many more rescue dogs through the magic of water, her energy, and loving touch. (And did we mention her HUGE heart?) Kathy we have so much gratitude for you and your skills to help us provide this amazing program. You are the light that keeps lighting the way! 🤗 🤗 🤗
