From Rags to Riches
Knucky
Knucky had a wonderful family of his own. Unfortunately his family fell upon hard times and surrendered him to a local shelter in April 2019 at the age of 5, with the hope he would have a better life. Sadly, Knucky found himself on the euthanasia list at the shelter due to his inability to get along with small animals. He had little interaction with volunteers, his spirit was broken and he lacked self-confidence.
In August of 2019, Knucky’s life changed when Pawtastic Friends partner Animal Network took him in and Knucky started PF Enrichment Training Program. What a difference the training made! Knucky thrived during classes, as the puzzles exercised his mind and the agility courses restored his confidence.
Because Knucky spent so much time in the shelter, he was starved for love and human interaction. Pawtastic Friends' Volunteers came to the rescue! Knucky soon became a volunteer favorite; he enjoyed walks, cuddling and napping in the PF truck. His spirits were renewed and his personality began to shine. 🌟
Time passed and Knucky waited, hoping each day would be the day he would find his fur-ever home. On December 27, 2019 Pawtastic Friends received a call from a wonderful man Steve, referred to PF by Kelly & Mike (PF supporters). Steve told us he and his daughter were looking to adopt and they were planning to travel back to their home in Oregon, stopping at shelters along the way until they found a dog that picked them. Steve stated, Mike said he had to reach out to Pawtastic Friends. (Thank you Mike!)
Melissa (PF Founder) told Steve she had the perfect dog for him and his daughter and the next day they met Knucky. The rest is history. To make the adoptions even sweeter, it was Melissa’s birthday - best birthday gift ever!!
Knucky is loving life with his dad Steve and human sister. He is traveling and living a wonderful life in Oregon. The dog that didn’t like other animals has furry friends too!

Knucky needed a chance, hope and a village that believed in him. That is exactly what he got with Pawtastic Friends. Please consider sponsoring a dog like Knucky for Enrichment Training and you could be the reason a shelter dog finds his fur-ever home.
